Saving Resources = Saving Life
I thought I will be able to write a few lines at least but believe me it is so difficult.
A lot has been said, written, debated, filmed and what not. I too am only adding to it - Save Resources.
With my thoughts, ideas and wishes I think I will able to reach to at least some people and may be even touch their minds to think about what I feel is very essential in today’s scenario – that is, an awareness towards saving resources at the local level.
For the Governments, framing policies becomes easy when people or the masses raise their voice on certain issues especially when it has to do with the resources (natural) of the country. Can some laws be made for the local self governments - the municipal corporations, municipalities or cantonment boards, the gram panchayats with regards to “Save Resources” whatsoever of their areas? And if these already exist then they need to be brought out of the files and books, and enforced or practiced.

Here I would like to give a very small example of how this can be done –
STEP I: The local governments at their level can have their ward members to frame a body of volunteers in their wards whereby they can contribute in bringing awareness among the residents of their area to save the resource of a particular kind, say for example, water of their area.
STEP II: The CBSE can also ask their affiliated schools ( through NCERT ) located in the various wards to help contribute, whereby, the student involvement or participation can be brought about in the society. The students should be made to understand the ground reality of the resources in their area. And, I am sure this will work. The CBSE can compulsorily introduce this as project work.
STEP III: Roadside hoardings should be changed. Allocation of funds should be made towards hoardings that speak volumes about saving the resources of that particular kind which needs attention in the area.
None other than the local people of an area can contribute best towards any development of the area. It is the youth who has to take the lead. There are so many restoration initiatives in our country but in small pockets which have really been very successful.
I strongly feel that today every natural resource needs to be conserved, saved and used optimally for sustainable development.
