A Lover of Books

Some are born lovers of books while in some you have to inculcate the habit of reading... Kusum Ma’am, popularly known in Mayoor School, gifted Yash a book on his first birthday. We all know, one year old cannot read, her mother kept it on the book shelf. Time rolls forward, when he was two years old , he told his mother, “story story...”

This habit was inculcated at the correct age. The habit became a practice. Lives of Great men, Saints, with full size pictures attracted the four year old Yash. He would read or look at the picture and fall of into a nap, post lunch. Time moved on Yash became eight years old. Readers Digest delivered by Post, India Today he would read while Suman took a nap for two hours.

Well this practice of reading with age developed . Reading novels and sports books continued , preparing for Quiz means reading. Variety of reading changed with age. Reading now seriously for the board exams. Text books and no reading for fun. Getting a high percentage, yes, even determination, helps in achieving.

Now this habit of reading has changed. At the age of thirty six it has changed drastically. It is consuming what is needed, rejecting the rest. Yes, I too agree, desires change according to need. The current trend is viewing, be it the small screen, the smart phones or tablet software.

The other day I heard him proclaim, “Dad, if you read books I will start writing books.”
Suman too knows, Yash has the skill and ability to write as well. Reader and lover of books can very conveniently become a lover of writing. A lover of books can be a lover of writing.
Lover of books will always remain a lover of books ! Suman prays to God , the Lover of books should encourage others to read. Books are the best friends to your own self. Friend and neighbours can desert you but books will never. One can read the same book number of times, the horizon will broaden. No loss but gain and only gain. LOVER OF BOOKS!
