A Memorable Autumn
My eyes are ablaze with colours of Autumn. Most of the readers of Pen -in sight, specially the editor Elvira knew that, we, i.e. my husband and I returned from The United Kingdom trip on September 7, 2022. The digital mode helps us share and exchange pictures.
Like the changing hues of the sky, Maple trees, leaves green, golden brown, London, Scotland, Birmingham, London and back home India ,Green Neem and Pipal. Three weeks, was a sufficiently long duration. Bread, butter, eggs, chicken, fish, High English Tea. Undoubtedly , we missed our Indian cuisines – Dal, Roti, Rice and Pickles.
Red and gold Buckingham Palace, Royal blue and red, Royal Guards, Edinburgh Castle!
Green grass to Steeples painted gold against the blue sky, zero pollution. Scotland Highlands, stretches of green plains. Ponnies, horses, sheep. Meandering paths with waterfall, black lanes and overhead fly way. All as if silent, no one to disturb. Yes-no!
Snow or iced peaks, summer-summer!

Birmingham, the five-day week Commonwealth Game village closed. We were fortunate to spend the weekend with our relatives. Homemade special meals before we headed back to London. The Double Tree by Hilton our second home, bang opposite to Victoria Station. Wimbledon Tennis, a heritage sight, lush green lawns and where grass is worshipped – a blade is chewed, a mark of respect. The Lords Cricket Stadium, the Royal touch continues when not the green and yellow of the Australian team, cream
and blue, red the British Team and India. The men and women in blues!
The colours changed to black on the death of the Queen. Tears do not have any colours. Wailing and weeping citizens, colourful wreaths, I am reminded of - “Death, be not Proud”. Across the Seas and Sky , thanks to the Digital mode I could send greetings on Ganpati.
Festivals in Asia, India. Then came the blazing red Maa Durga. Colourful dances and dresses! The nine days event ends bye-bye . Dussehra, Ramlila, Ravan ... Victory of good over evil and Diwali is round the corner. Sweets, holidays and crackers!
We all look forward to the S.M.A.,Ajmer Alumni Meet in November. We relive our childhood – fun, frolic, dance, dine . Pics and pics. Hugs and bye-bye! Oh!!! A Memorable Autumn!
