A Spring Day

SPRING has not gently stepped in. There is music, melody and a gush of whirlwind.
Dolly, has turned into a sweet lady, has a sweetheart not in the woods but across the seas. No, no... the wedding bell will not ring. There is much to do before the knot is tied.

She glares out  from the window. Readers will wonder is it day or night. The birds are busy singing ... you ought to have a musical ear. Will the notes go like the piano or a guitar. Oh!! It is not one variety. Can you guess ?? Yes, her wake up call is not the alarm clock. The chirping! Four-thirty in the morning. It is almost full moon. The answer is obvious... Light.

Sparrows, pigeons, seven sisters, parrots, and crows. Outside world has dogs barking. Pigs wagging their tiny tails, cows, and buffalos. Oh !!!  A black beauty. Dolly knows it is a steed. There is the music, deep gong as if from the well, a grey langur mounted not on a tree, atop a high rise building.

Dolly now whistles, early morning in the foothill, it helps to increase her lungs strength. Clapping is an exercise but message is that of thrill. Repeating, the sound as if in the jungle in conversation with animals. Oh!! A cat ran across the road, is it ,yes yes inauspicious. Now she i.e. she waits and waits for some bad, sad news.

The gardens are blooming. Flowers innumerable shades. She can very well identify each and every flower by fragrance. The sun and the clouds battling . Who will Win? What about the breeze?..?? Initially soft, what will happen now it is growing stronger and oh!! Dolly hold the skirt tight, it will fly, not out of her waist. She is holding her hair. It has taken to a whirlwind. Her feet seem to leave the ground as if on wings to fly.

Dolly hears music, drums and trumpets. She tries to put her ears to the wind. It is marriage procession. What ?? There is the bridegroom and a few women. Beautifully decked up . They have come to the temple. The group has come to the temple to seek the blessings. Yes, of the Gods in the temple.

Dolly pinches her arm. Am I sleeping or day dreaming? On the wings of fantasy, she flies across the seas to meet her sweetheart. What a handsome young man! There is the loud sound of screeching brakes of the scooter. “Madam, kahan chal rahi ho? Are you sleeping or day dreaming?” Dolly as if fallen from the high tree onto the hard road.
“Sorry, sorry. I am extremely sorry.”

Well, how can Spring with so much of music end in a tragedy? Dolly again whistles, claps and as if dancing... thrill and only thrill.
