Childhood Treasures
The train journey to Nani’s home made me excited,
The window seat was where I wanted to be seated.
The delicacies by Nani made my taste buds dance,
The 'kulfi' for dessert I would miss by no chance.
The India gate was a historic place
But Children's park was where we wanted to race.

Carrom, football, chess, cricket made all the cousins fight,
At nights we chatted until scolded, to sleep tight.
Watching horror movies together,
Playing pranks and trying to frighten each other.
The rooms filled with joy and fun,
Gifts, tasty food and games were the main stuff.
Growing up, these visits ended soon,
Heart still craves to be a kid and enjoy that summer and monsoon.
