Father’s Day

Why celebrate one day!!! Every day is Father’s day. Daddy leaves for office at 9:15, Ajmer being a small town. “Bye Daddy! Bye Papa, see you at 5:30.” Now whether online, offline, school /college/office, the clock ticks. Mom takes care. Enjoys, sweats, instructs . She too waits like everyone in the home for ‘Father’ to return.

The clock strikes 5 and the wait begins. Tidy up the home, children put on fresh looks. “Oh!!! Daddy is coming home”. Every day ritual. Father will lift the child, hurl him/her in the air and the child is secure in his strong arms.

Going to bed, falling ill, hospitalisation, the children want the Father. He is like the engine driver to the train family. What about examinations, Report card, looking for employment? Father is like the yellow red page directory. Oh!!! Gone our days.

Going out to play: garden at home /public park every where the father is around. Oh!! 19th Father’s Day. Secret gift, outing. Each child has a plan for the special day. With the help of internet, smart phones and the tabs, the day becomes not special but very special.

The wait will end and then 20th onwards the hope... Father’s Day in 2023, as if not a wait but a blink. Yes, the celebrations throughout 365 days gets the clock ticking.
