Hello and Bye-bye August!

August is the last month of summer. The Monsoon helps put on a velvety green hue, be it the hills, plains, or hills. Nature is at its best. The grazing animals - goats, sheep, cows, buffaloes, horses etc., enjoy the pastures. The birds- sparrows, pigeons, crows, bulbuls, kingfishers, and gulls can be seen hovering in the cloudy sky. The peacock can be seen dancing with open plumes on the velvety green carpet. The cloudy night adds the music to the peacock’s song, “Mai Aao”. They too feed on the freshly supplied stock of worms and insects. The reptiles- snakes, lizards, frogs, toads and earthworms are a common sight. The croaking frogs in ponds, add music to the dusk.

The ant laboriously working under the soil stores supplies for the monsoon. The music of the cricket in the bushes; the centipedes, the millipedes can be spotted in the green fields. Oh! Nature is truly at its best!
Well! The humans, we, are lost in festivity and celebrations. Teej, a festival associated with leheriya, swings and ghewar, a traditional sweet, is celebrated across a number of states in our country. The Independence Day, a national event observed across the country is celebrated with much fervour and grace. Muharram, Rakshabandhan, Shri Krishan Janamasthami bring an end to the month of AUGUST.
