Mayena
Mayena is a young girl of marriageable age.
She is tall, dusky complexion with dimple in both her cheeks. She although by community belongs to the tribe called ‘gadia lohar’. Now residing in small mud homes, a symbolic wooden cart, and the males, females have bellows, beating iron and creating agriculture and domestic use items.
Mayena wears her hair knotted with an artificial red rose. Her fiancée is in school. Good! Great! Which class or standard... no idea, she blushes. Next month the wedding is planned. All purchasing done, all dresses stitched. Oh!! How beautiful she will look but the sad side is she will leave her father’s home.

Well, every Indian bride has to! Oh! There is a certain grace when she walks, dances, sings, she is such a queen. The queen is without a crown but a handsome bank balance. A pat on Kusum’s back for the account and the deposit. That is Mayena’s strength. The lady, Kusum, is foresighted. All the friends and associates praise her. What if, Mayena does not get a good treatment in her new home?
Well, we trust and believe in March.
Will March really prove its worth? March is a month. From times immemorial March symbolises beauty, grace and strength of women. Yet a woman has to write and meet her Destiny.
