Monsoon Rain

Eastward breeze in the yonder
Came along with roar and thunder
As across the fields it marched
Quenched the thirst of lands that parched
Smoky, thick and dark are cloud
Making cuckoo sing aloud
Drizzling now and pounding then
Clattering on my window pane

Falling upon the concrete roofs
Like the thundering of the hoofs
Up above the world so high
Behold the rainbow in the sky
Bouncing drops, my lawn they fill
And the dance of golden daffodil
My heart pounds with joy and glee
The beauty of nature my eyes that see
