October’s richness!
Oh! October, the tenth month - Autumn’s last phase! It’s raining festivals - International and International Celebrations! International Coffee Day, Smile Day, Mahatma Gandhi’s Birthday, Navratri - nine days and nights devoted to Maha Shakti, Amba.
Across the country, North to South, East to West, you can feel the religious fervour. Dussehra to Deepawali, Ramlila and Deepak’s illumination and sweets, crackers, new outfits, gifts and hugs, outings and tours. Oh! The Karvachauth festival of the North specially, Punjab and Himachal! Women sacrifice water... how much can they save in hours? Evening is sky watching for Chanda- the moon... Chand, the husband! It’s Silk and Satin, dance and dine with friends and neighbours for fun and frolic.

It’s chilling weather now with late dawn, early twilight, a cosy bed and long nights. Days are replete with falling leaves in the northern hemisphere. Oh! At the end of October is Halloween.
Before we welcome OCTOBER, let’s be grateful to SEPTEMBER.
Bye-bye September! You had your music and we danced!
