All lads and ladies can visit her parlour
To dull faces she adds glow and colour
Squirrels, rabbits, turtles, ducks and hens
Come to meet her in hundreds and tens.
Ms. Ant serves her clients with the very best
Trims furs, offers manicures and adorns a crest
With a hundred assistants she works non-stop
No, this is my story, not borrowed from Aesop!

So, Ms. Lizard visited her one bright morning
Asked for a manicure - pedicure after a warning
She settled down with the latest cine magazine
Made from leaves, lean and oh so bright green.
She was going with Mr. Chameleon for a date
He was just like Karma, the unpredictable Fate
He’d be dressed in his best colour changing outfit
She was to wear her slim fit gown with a long slit.

Tiny ants ran to and fro, listening to her loud talk
She reclined comfortably on her soft mossy rock
They trimmed her long nails and rubbed and rubbed
Dainty feet and fingers they scrubbed and scrubbed.
They painted her freshly manicured nails bright red
She screamed aloud and the ants scurried in dread
She demanded to meet Ms. Ant, the parlour’s owner
She complained the shade they had not shown her.

Ms. Lizard smiled and said she would do as she warned
How dare they not paint her nails black, she stormed!
Within a trice Ms. Ant and her assistants were gone
Then licking her lips, sashayed out like a graceful swan!
