My brother O brother

I weave silver and golden threads

Moonbeams, sunrays with auspicious reds!

My brother O brother

I weave a band for your brave wrist

Which to save me can change into a fist!

My brother O brother

I weave love and prayers for you

I ask God, to always the best give to you!

My brother O brother

May our sacred bond live forever!

May you and I, our love, be separated never!

My brother O brother

Today I pray for all those loving sisters

Who in battle or sickness have lost their brothers!

My brother O brother

As I tie this thread woven in love

I pray to God to shower His blessings from above!

My brother O brother

Don’t just stuff your mouth with sweets

Hurry! Give me my gift so that I can leave you in peace!
